Kurt Moors has been involved in several organisations connected to cooperative farming and the cooperative banking sector. Since December 1999, he has held the position of General Coordinator at BRS (Belgian Raiffeisen Foundation). He leads a team committed to providing technical assistance and training to savings and credit cooperatives in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. BRS operates within a unique framework, as it is fully embedded in the cooperative Cera and KBC Bank. In 2016, he was involved in establishing the financial cooperative BRS Microfinance Coop, where he serves as a member of the investment committee.
At BRS, he initiated Micofact.org, known for its tools on business planning and financial performance evaluation. He brought this experience to the EMP (European Master Programme), where he teaches the module on performance management.
Kurt holds a master's degree in applied Biosciences and Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. After completing a postgraduate course in tropical engineering at ESAT Montpellier, he joined the NGO IVA of the Belgian Farmers Union in 1992. Just before starting at BRS, he worked for three years in South Africa at the Goedgedacht Agricultural Resource Centre, a joint initiative to support emerging farmers.
