Small and medium sized enterprises led by women in Central America struggle to access credit, despite empirical evidence showing that female entrepreneurs represent a similar or better risk than their male counterparts. CENPROMYPE, thanks to its deep regional experience in serving the needs of Micro, Small and Medium-size enterprises (MSMEs) in the SICA region, is well aware of the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, and has placed Women's Entrepreneurship at the center of its agenda. Thanks to partnership with LuxDev, CENPROMYPE is doubling down on its effort and promote the Female Entrepreneurship Fund ("FEF"). This new initiative aims to an impact investment vehicle, specifically targeting gender equality, capable of to increasing access to financial services, in the form of loans and technical assistance, to women-led businesses. Total Impact, with its regional and international expertise in facilitating bridges between capital providers and proven implementers, will shed light on how set up a fund that aimed at making a real difference in how FIs in the region perceive women as credit worthy.
