As Senior Advisor in SME and Climate Finance, Michael Steidl is responsible for designing and managing the EIB’s advisory projects with financial institutions in the Middle East and North Africa, the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe. Before joining the EIB in 2018, Mr. Steidl has worked for the World Bank Group in Mexico and Indonesia. Overall, he has been working in financial sector development, both with private and public financial institutions, including regulatory agencies and Central Banks, for more than 26 years. His experience is global, having worked in projects in over 50 developing countries worldwide.
